About the photographer

Enrico Pietracci is an Italian visual artist from Porto San Giorgio (FM) with a diploma in stage design from the Accademia di Belle Arti Firenze (Italy). Since 1998 he has been working as a freelance artist with a focus on photography. 

His artistic studies, driven by curiosity and the joy of experimentation, range from staged photography to digital editing.The aesthetics of his works are characterised by the fact that they go beyond the simple representation of reality by creating new dimensions with often surreal and ironic characteristics. 

In his Berlin series “look closer” architectural photography merges with abstract art, a graphic and chromatic play between two- and three-dimensionality. By digitally extending parts of the image, ordinary and banal urban surfaces acquire unexpected dimensions, small, barely perceptible details, traces of life and evidence of human individuality become discreetly visible in an abstract and apparently surreal context. 

Enrico Pietracci had five solo exhibitions in Berlin between 2016 and 2024, including Fluent Body Light Paintings and Fluent Body II, as well as several group exhibitions including Wide Angle and Beyond Belief. He has also participated in international art fairs including Fotofever in Paris, Sovrainterposizioni in Milan, as well as Weird Ancestors and Look Closer in Berlin. In 2022 Pietracci was nominated for the Art Award 2022, Düsseldorf.
