ONE SHOT AWARD FAQ
How many photos can I submit to the One Shot Award?
For the One Shot Award, as the name suggests, each entry fee covers the upload of a single shot. However, you can easily increase your chances of being selected directly within the BBA App. Once you start your application, you have the flexibility to purchase additional credits to add more images to your submission.
What are the image size and file requirements?
You can submit your work in JPG, PNG, or HEIC format. The file size must not exceed 3MB per image. Please note that this 3MB file is strictly for the digital jury selection phase so our jury can easily review your entry. If your work is selected for the shortlist, we will contact you to request a high-resolution, print-ready file for the Berlin gallery exhibition.
If I am selected, what can the One Shot Award do for my career?
Being selected grants you massive physical and digital exposure. Locally, your work will be showcased at the BBA Gallery in Berlin, giving you direct visibility to international curators, collectors, and art enthusiasts, which can open doors to future gallery collaborations. Globally, you will receive huge online exposure and digital visibility across our platforms. Beyond giving you the vital confidence to scale your artistic profile, this dual physical and digital presence acts as a powerful launchpad for your career.
What is the difference between the One Shot Award and the BBA Photography Prize?
Think of the One Shot Award (OSA) as an evolution track. The OSA is designed for impact with a single, standalone image. Success and recognition here provide the perfect stepping stone to scale your career, and confidence to enter a full portfolio into our main Photography Prize.
I don’t know what photo I should submit, can you help ?
Yes! To help you submit your absolute best work, you can book a 30-minute 1-to-1 consultation with our team. We will audit your portfolio and provide expert guidance on which shot aligns perfectly with our jury's expectations.
Can I submit a photograph taken on a mobile / smartphone?
Yes, absolutely. The One Shot Award celebrates powerful visual storytelling, and we welcome submissions shot on smartphones. The jury judges the strength, composition, and impact of the image, not the device it was captured on. Just ensure your file is saved in JPG, PNG, or HEIC format and meets our quality requirements (under 3MB).
