When/how will I be informed about the results of the competition?

If your application to the BBA Artist Prize is successful, you will become part of our longlist. From the longlist, a shortlist will be selected to exhibit at Kühlhaus Berlin. Winners will then be selected by the jury from this shortlist. All applicants will be notified via email whether their application is successful or not. The results of the longlist will also be posted on our website and social media channels. Longlist results are typically announced 2-6 weeks after the final application deadline has passed.

Do my artworks need to be available for sale? What if they sell during the application process as I am exhibiting with another gallery currently?

Ideally the artworks that you submit as part of your application for the BBA Artist Prize will be available for sale. Your application should demonstrate the extent of your artistic talent, however, so if you feel that certain works communicate this you may submit them. The curation of your works can be discussed if selected. Artists cannot apply with artworks that are exclusively contracted with another gallery.
